Well, now that you mention it I guess it would be cool if they did offer different and more realistic body types but the fact that they don't isn't surprising because it's just the way society is, there's this "perfect" image that is ideal to most people because that's all we're exposed to in all media so it sticks.

Avatars are meant for fun.. if they really wanted them to reflect who we are they would offer more hair colors, hair styles, and clothing as well! Half of the guys clothing are for queers! Imagine how much money they would have to invest to have a different body shapes, and then clothes for each of those body shapes, etc etc, whereas now it is like the classic paper dolls, one size fits all! If making yourself look skinny in an avatar hurts your self esteem GET SOME HELP!

I chose not to have an avatar as the choices did not reflect the vast number of people and body types out here.

i think it gives the oppurtunity for people to make themselves look how they want to. i believe that the should have thicker body type options, but really, how many people would honestly choose that when they know that they don't know anyone from yahoo answers, so why not make themselves how they want to look with their avatars.

I had my mom take this photograph... ... you additionally can real click on the photograph you like, then go with replica and watch the place the photograph is saved to. From there you upload it on your 360 photographs and make it a default photograph. BTW, i admire your avatar and that i might pass over the lovable cat! ~lmao at "clever"!

;) Myself, I believe what makes the BEST avatar is when the individual achieves a fairly-good in-depth self-portrait: I honestly worked HARD to CHOOSE the best options where mine WOULD be! :D

[I am honestly even MORE blue in my DL pic.]

Mine turned out to be an internal self-portrait combined with an external one--it looks like the sum of my self: philosophical, medical, all components considered, an image of the inadequately-breathing dead, a way of being honest with myself in regard to my overall health picture, a coping mechanism in its way [just like my nick, I think they make a good match]. ;)

I think that is the BEST way to reflect one's overall look, if one does in fact capture the WHOLE of one's *look*--looking outside AND INSIDE, the honest facts of their lives.

In that sense, I believe my avatar is a declaration that I am at peace with myself, my life, my fate, which is a gift I would wish for anyone on the path to happiness. :)

I think overall the avatar system is fun, light-hearted, and I actually appreciate the somewhat entertaining way to express my more macabre reality. ;)

I mean, where else can you find such a *cute* way to visually express that I have lost my ever-lovin' mind than that pic showing me there holding my head after it's gone and rolled off? ;)

I also appreciate that it gives ALL users the chance to sort through what they value, how they perceive themselves, how they wish to appear vs how they DO actually appear...what they hope to see in the mirror vs reality...whether they like ALL their components...whether they like THEMSELVES...key factors brought to light by your excellent question--THANKS! :D

i know, i noticed that we all look the same...same body size, and same age. that would be really cool if we could look more like we really do.
