puffers have fused teeth for breaking into shells and should be given mussels, cockles as the mainstay as well as shrimp, fish, krill but will also take brineshrimp and earthworms. It is best to use frozen gamma irradiated food from pet stores than fresh to avoid disease (they are prone to intestinal problems i my experience). because pet puffers never have to use there teeth to open shells they can get overgrown and may need trimming by a vet.

They love snails - helps keep their teeth worn down. Then meaty foods - blackworms, shrimp - you can even chop frozen shrimp in their shells, chopped clams. Some will take pellets but they all need ocasional hard food to help keep the teeth worn down. Thier teeth grow and can reach a point where they cant eat if not given a varied diet. (then you have to grind them down)

for breakfast--usually pancakes and maple syrup (they love it!)

for dinner--an assortment of health foods including pizza, beer, roast beef and lamb dishes, french fries, that kind of stuff.

for supper--this is the quiet meal--soups and sandwiches usually, sometimes a nice casserola, always white wines.
