Not that it's possible, but if 1 1/2 chicken lay 1 1/2 eggs in 1 1/2 days, then 3 chicken lay 3 eggs in 1 1/2 days, so in 3 days they would lay 6 eggs.
And for those who don't realise (and have never watched Chicken Run) not all chickens lay eggs every day.

First off, I would like to see what 1/2 a chicken looks like not to mention 1/2 an egg.
Second, your question is pretty stupid, it is 1:1, the three chickens would lay 3 eggs in one day.
1.5---->1.5
3.0---->3.0

IF x chicken lay x eggs in x days
1.5 chicken lay 1.5 eggs in 1.5 days
therefore (doubling chickens only)
3 chicken lay 3 eggs in 1.5 days
and now doubling days
3 chicken lay 6 eggs in 3 days
Answer: 6 eggs

to solve this type of question, first calculat the laying rate in eggs per chicken * day
1 1/2 egg
--------------------------------- = 2/3 egg/chicken *day
1 1/2 chicken * 1 1/2 day
now you can find the result of this type of question by multiply of your variable factor to this rate !
3 day * 3 chiken * 2/3 (the laying rate) = 6
3 chicken lay 6 eggs in 3 days
