Yawning is not infectious, but it might be contagious. When you see one person yawn, then you feel like yawning yourself. It's just a built in reflex of the human mind.

All living things do that,except plants,due drowsiness subject to lack of oxygen (insufficient) pumping in into specific organs(lung,brain,other internal organs). Frequently yawning will effect health or contribute or deteriorates exiting sickness or illness
