i've never been to the usa so i dont really know what the state of race relations is there.

But in the uk, in metropolitan towns and cities, there are many ethnic minorities from different backgrounds who, on the whole, are part of British culture. Doctors, shop owners, businessmen, it people etc etc. I am not trying to paint a picture of a country without prejudice, but on the whole there is a good mix of communities and asian communities are part of British life.

There was anger and sadness at the misguided terrorist boys who did what they did, but i think the average brit doesnt blame the Muslim family on their street!

However there is some resentment from the british who expected all British muslims to denounce the bombings. This didnt happen, and some strong muslim voices say they understand the motivation of the bombers- this HAS caused hostile reactions to muslims.

Also more moderate muslims feel they do not need to answer for the terrorists.

Its a crazy world with people who would like us to turn on our neighbours who are different from us. We have to remain strong, and without prejudice, because it is the moderate opinions that will pave a peaceful future...

Maybe there is a backlash but we just don't see it. Either way I think both occurrences were tragic. However 9/11 was more destructive and there was far greater loss of life. In addition, this is AMERICA, we have never been hit so blatantly (Pearl Harbor, though horrible, was not like 9/11). Nobody expected it to happen, and by nobody I mean the rest of the free world included. Maybe a backlash started in the UK after 9/11 and so there wasn't a big shift of emotions when it happened to them. I think that Britain was prepared for it, in a way. After they saw that it could happen to us they realized they were not safe either. This is just pure speculation, obviously. =) I haven't really given a lot of thought to the UK's reaction to their attacks. But, they do handle things a lot differently than us.

9/11 i did not even comprehend that occurred even as it did because i changed into like fairly youthful. London bombings made me unhappy because it fairly is my homeland that I lived in for 8 years and they have destroyed it because now each and every person's going to be fearful about bombs going off and stuff.

In the London bombings about 50 people died and several hundred people were injured. On 9/11 over 3,000 people were killed and thousands more injured. The two are entirely on different levels and don't really compare.

because 9/11 killed more people, was meant to be more, was on a much larger scale, americans are very patriotic and dramatic, plus the london bobing was lmuch less symbolic and the world was used to terror, more than in 2001.

Because the British government does not believe in the right to self-protection.
Go to www.nraila, and use the search window for topics such as "Britains gun ban", and just read some of their goofy rationalizations for not punishing criminals; and why they punish regular citizens just for trying to protect their homes & families against criminals.

p.s. "Shanaza" below, pretty much proves my point by referring to them as "misguided", not murderers, not terrorist bombers but, "misguided".

that is not true. i don't know where you are comming from but you really don't have a clue. Here in Europe everbody hates muslims. And they are right to do so. We should all kill them.
