I don't think it should be banned under all circumstances, but let's be fair, it is part of a wider problem.

I live in a country where sex, and all possible risks and complications, are freely discussed - the Netherlands. You will find that because of that we have the lowest teen pregnancy rate in the Western World.

On the other hand, I'm a father, and have seen my boy the first time on an echo when he was just a six week old bean-sized foetus. That was almost 26 years ago...

Again, in my opinion it should be allowed, but I'ld like to add: only as a last resource. Should you be pregnant, try to get help in raising the child with or for you. It is your decision, but not one you can ever undo again.

Can't think of anyone who's "in favor" of abortion.

I am pro-choice. I don't think some suit in Washington has the right to decide what I or any woman can or can't do with her body. There are limitations and should be on when it's OK to have an abortion. But as long as a woman is in the "acceptable time period" then leave her alone.

That said, I am pro-choice and I would not choose to have an abortion. But that's MY choice, let others make THEIR choice.

Sorry...gotta comment on this part...

"the REAL REASON why the church frowns on abortion is that it eliminates potential new members for that church (governments feel the same way as it eliminates potential new tax payers etc) it is not a moral issue like they make it out to be it is mearly a form of controlling people to have more people so they get more power....if abortion were moral and they really beleived "ALL LIFE IS IMPORTANT" then we would not be eating meat, and probably not veges either.... "

You're kidding right? We frown on abortions because we'd lose money in our church coffers? All life is important. Especially important is following God's commands for said life. Animals (meat) and plants (veggies) are here FOR HUMANS to consume and be sustained.

I know this will fall on deaf ears but it's just too ridiculous a premise to ignore. Even atheists ought to laugh at this one.

I wouldn't say I'm in favour of abortion but I do think a woman has the right to make her own decisions. Better that than a child being born into the world either severely disabled or totally unloved and unwanted. And I'm definitely not in favour of those sanctimonious people who are totally against abortion because it goes against God. How arrogant it is to foist your own beliefs onto others. If these people would never abort a fetus then fine, that is their choice, but they have no right to decide for other people.

whats this have to do with Education???

I am in favor of keeping abortion legal - YES
the world is plenty populated as it is and too many women are made to feel guilty about not keeping their baby and these kids then do not have good lives

HOWEVER - I would like to see birth control made FREE and women who have repeated abortions should be sterilized

the REAL REASON why the church frowns on abortion is that it eliminates potential new members for that church (governments feel the same way as it eliminates potential new tax payers etc) it is not a moral issue like they make it out to be it is mearly a form of controlling people to have more people so they get more power....if abortion were moral and they really beleived "ALL LIFE IS IMPORTANT" then we would not be eating meat, and probably not veges either....

really interesting way to pose the questions... hmm... in favor of abortion... well I would say I was 'in favor' of it if the girl has been raped and SHE decides that is what she wants.

I am not sure anyone is ever in favor of abortion... that is a debate trick used on this issue... that somehow those of us that are in favor of choice are in favor of abortion.

I could ask you if you are in favor of rape.. same trick just back at you.

huh? I wouldn't say anyone is in "favor" of abortion. That's an odd way of putting it. I am pro-choice, and my comment is that you aren't going to make me change my mind on that. Ever.

I guess those who say that they should be given a choice to decide on issues such as abortion bring out the fact that its their body, their life. and also that (in the early stages of pregnancy), the feutus is not a life yet, so abortion is not killing.

I am not in favor of abortion. everything has a right to live. Its so gross how people can kill innocent babies, what if you were in yur moms uterus and she decided to killl u?? People wouldn't kill pups or kittens, so why kill humans that have a soul?
