Sanskrit (India), Latin(Greek) are some of the earliest known well-developed languages.
Origin of all language is need and ability. Communicating using a spoken language is one of the most complex and intelligent traits of any living being. It requires thought to form words, and requires right kind of vocal chords etc. to say them. Similarly it requires mechanism to decipher words spoken by someone else.

Thanks all the people for putting sanskrit as the original language. I am proud coz I am an india, BUT sanskrit was not the original language. If you will search well, you will find that there were older languages present.
To answer your question, do you mean language as in script or spoken language. Spoken language has been around since prehistoric days. Actually the prehistoric era ended when people started documenting stuff, i.e the script was invented. A language's script needs to have designated symbols to convey meaning. But to have developed a script first does not necessarily make a language the oldest. Some languages were only spoken and developed a script long after many other languages had evolved.

It is said that the Universal language is symbolism. I
personally feel we come from different planets. The natural skin color of this world is brown. I feel the
people from India are the original people from Terra. If we are from other worlds, that would expain the different languages.
A story in the Bible says God confused our languages.
BULLFROG! God is not the author of confusion.
If my understanding is correct. The God we can't understand in the Old Testament, was really the Elohim. The Powers and Principalities. This is a paradox. In that
our Creator let them have authority. So in a way, they
were doing Gods will. But as far as God giving direct
orders. I don't think it happened that way.

Mythologically speaking, The Tower of Babel was the origin of all spoken and written languages.
Historically speaking, we're porbably talking about a bunch of different sects of people evolving from grunts to something resembling words, and each different sect's language evolving from that.
If you look up "tower of babel" you could probably find multiple sites on that subject.

Language is symbolic communication.
If a caveman hit another caveman with a club, he has communicated with him.
If a caveman said "I'll hit you with a club" to another caveman , he has symbolically communicated with him.
It began around the time man started making tools, weapons to hunt with. He needed to tell about his finds. Documentation.

In all of my history and computer/keyboarding classes, they said it was Latin. They said that Latin was the root of every language; now if it's true or not, I can't answer that question...
