Personally, I didn't think so. Why can't they just leave the classics ALONE. That's the way it should be. Same goes for the idiotic 'Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back' movie. What are your thoughts?

I totally agree....Clerks was a classic! I guess, seeing the success of a movie like that, producers think they can capitalize on it...al Star Wars etc, but it never seems to work with this particular genre. Movies like Clerks are better left alone.

I think so. I thought that it was just as funny as the original. Granted the original was funny because it was unique. I admit I was hesitant about liking the sequel, but I've liked all of his other films so far, so I didn't really have a reason to think this one would be bad.

I can see why people would think this movie is just another attempt to make money or acheive the glory of the first film, but I agree with Smith that there was a story to be told. It seems appropriate that after the first film that Dante's ambitions to "get off the can" were never realized. And the fact that another life altering decision forces him to make a decision about his life is more than relevant. As my fiance pointed out, this time around there was more of a plot. But the first film stands out because it wasn't so much plot driven as the characters made the movie interesting.

As for Jay and Silent Bob, I would much rather watch those two on the screen acting goofy or getting into trouble, over any other trash that they're showing at the theatres now. And I think the previews they showed before Clerks II supports my opinion.

I am debating if I want to see Clerks II or not. Usually if the sequel sucks it makes me hate the first. I did like Dogma though. But Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was kind of lame. Will Ferrell was about the best thing in that movie!
