Changes in your diet, adding some vitamins and/or suplements you might need, prenatal vitamins would be a good thing to start taking, changes in your life style, like smoking, drinking, drugs, things like that you have to quit right now, exercising, what kind of birth control will you be put it? I recomend you to just take the bc pill, ask about any tests he can do right now to check for your cholesterol, thyroid, iron, any vaccines you may need right now, anything that involves your overall health. Good luck!!

Well, if I was you, I wouldn't be trying to get on birth control right now if you want to get pregnant by the end of the year! It's harder for a women to get pregnant after she has been on birth control! It may take awhile for your cycle and everything to be normal... just a thought for ya!!! I know of people who took years to get pregnant because they were on birth control.

You might want to find out what his birthing philosophies are. He may be a great GYN for you, but you might find out that your thoughts about birth aren't the same and he might not be a good fit for you as a prenatal caregiver.

How many of his moms have a c/s?
How many are induced?
How many have an episiotomy?
How many birth over an intact perineum?
How many give birth unmedicated?
Which hospitals does he deliver at?
If he is not on call, who would attend your labor?
What prenatal tests does he recommend?
How does he feel about mothers hiring doulas to support them during labor?

Think about what things are important to you reguarding your birth. You may not know completely yet if you haven't started reading about labor and birth, but it's good to go ahead and find out his thoughts so that, as you read, you'll know if you are in sync with what he believes.

What type of birth control does he recommend?
What are the side effects?
What are your chances of getting pregnant on this birth control?
Should you get a Paps smear before you decided to get pregnant?
