I am a conservative republican and I look forward to pelosi as speaker. She is an intelligent and eloquent and well thought out in her arguements and discussions. Proud that she is an American.

No way, as an independent voter, politicians such as Pelosi disgust me. As a politician, one's goal should be the betterment of our society. Ms. Pelosi is extremely partisan and it appears her views are more inspired by political ambitions rather than bettering our country.
"A changing of the guard" so to speak would probably be a good thing this year in our government. However, I would rather see a speaker of the house that will work to find common ground and progressive solutions to the issues facing our country. I don't see Pelosi doing much other than taking the extreme polar opposite position of Bush and/or other leading republicans.

NO, I am not excited about the POSSIBILITY of Nancy Pelose becoming speaker... IF the elections go sour, that could happen.
Ask yourself this question: do you WANT to pay MORE taxes? IF so, then vote Democrat. If you DON"T want to pay more taxes, then vote Republican.... all the other issues will not change regardless until 2008. Be careful and think hard about it.

Hmm, would Pelosi want the job, or would she want to be Majority Leader? They're both important positions, and she may prefer to coordinate Democratic efforts rather than the House. If the House does flip, we may see Steny Hoyer (current Minority Whip) chosen as Speaker. Or, they could always surprise us (it definitely wouldn't be the first time), and there are plenty of candidates. It would be awesome to see the first female Speaker, though.

Aaaaaccccckkkk! Nancy Pelosi? Just uttering that name conjures up images of demons, death, & destruction. She, and others who think like her, are what is leading this wonderful country into the abyss.
She cannot think rationally. The only thing she does well is make speeches filled with hatred of everthing that has made this country great.

In all honesty, she doesn't excite me one bit. Let me be clear that while you probably would call me a Neo-Con, I can think for myself quite well. If the Dems win in November, I can think of about 200 of you that would be better in that position. She's just not that good of a politician or thinker.

YES!! This is all to exciting to see Dems FINALLY taking control of congress and in 08, of the White House. After 6 yrs of SHAME and EXTREME spending, we need Dems to fix our economy like they always do.
