I bet these are the same people who are still enraged about the slaughter on 9/11.

Is the rationale that as long it is happening somewhere else it's okay but when it happens to us it is an outrage? Please exlplain

So, Am I to understand that this cavalier attitude is really a result of extreme frustration about our powerlessness to make changes? If so, that's uite a different story.

I'm not at all cavalier. But the simple fact that people here on Yahoo Answers can do nothing about it is the real fact. The only way to change thigns over there is to change the mind set of two sides that hate each other and teach their chidlren to hate each other.

This has been going on so long that there are NO solutions other than one side killing the other. Either way it goes there will be horror and blood.

Unless you can come up with a way for people here to fix it, what good does pointing fingers do?

Because they havent been to the place. Beirut is one of the most beautiful places on earth. U can go skiing in the morning and take an hour drive down to the coast and swim. They could also see how lebanese are really nice people. U can let ur child go around at night and not worry about drugs or sex or violence. If u get to know the people who are dying then u might understand y muslims hate jews. What would the americans do if the jews go onto there land. Muslims allowed jews to live on there land(palestine, lebanon....) for years but then the UK and America came up with an ingenious plan to destabilize the region and started the state of israel. Lebanese didnt fight any war with it but in 1978 israel decided that lebanon is weak and that they should occupy it. Hizballah was formed after the israeli invasion because it was the members of hizballah's homeland that was taken away from them. The sttory does not go back to the kidnapping but back to 1978. Hypocrits are the people who support israel.

Yes there is an awful situation in the world today. If Mexico was riddled with terrorist and they were lobbing missiles indiscriminately into Texas after kidnapping American soldiers I would as would most Americans support targeting terrorist strongholds even if they were under Churches, schools, hospitals, and residential homes. The message was clear. Terrorist pose a clear and present danger to the national security of the "United" States of America. Any country that aides, supports or supplies refuge to terrorist will be held accountable. So you are either with us or against us. Get in the fight or put your head between your knees and kiss your a** good-bye.
After the threat is gone i support retracting from the world and returning to what our founding fathers intended for us to be. If we stuck to the United States Constitution we wouldn't be in this position in the first place. This I know.
No matter what side of the fence you are on, Lib or Con, Rep or Dem, look at this website and maybe some sanity can be returned to our planet if not only our country. My E-Mail is LeeCenterLPN@aol.com if you wish to comment.

Believe it or not 9/11 has become no more than a catch phrase and forgotten amongst us. It is not slaughter in the middle east in our minds. The deaths are just casualties of war in our minds and nobody has given me at least anything to prove otherwise. Your so called slaughter of so called citizens are in doubt. Many terrorists are trained and stay regular citizens till called into active duty such is the way of Hezabollah. The distinction between innocent and casualties of war is kind of blurry.

i have long advocated an end to all hostility and suggest the only way to peace is total disarmiment. AMERICA needs to quit building more war ships and planes .WE need to get out of the international arms trade .
There is a rumor that several navy fighters flown by jewish men while on patrol in the med and arabian sea have landed fully armed and returned with no weapons in ISRAEL and that infact two planes where simply given to ISRAEL by pilots one in 1984 and again in1998 these are just rumors and no admition by the United States government has ever been issued to confirm or denie such matters .

I have been wondering about the same thing! Are these teenagers discussing politics... please tell me they are or else how can mature people be so dumb. Tell me the West has better people, for that is what we tell people here! If this is an average intelligence of the Western man then the world is doomed!

What are you doing about it besides writing questions on yahoo. It is not as simple as you make it out. Ranting is easy, laying down in front of a tank like those in Tienanmen Square is not so easy.

very simply it is the "not in my back yard" syndrome. in this context acts of terrorism in other countries are hardly acknowledged here in the U.S. however if an act of overt terror happens on U.S. soil it is considered most heinous and the world needs to unite to stop terror

These "innocents" are taught from birth to hate us and to seek to destroy us. It is about time they are rooted out and dealt with!
