Excavate around the leaking area until the pipe is exposed and you have plenty of clearance around the damaged area. To make life easy for yourself, cut out a small piece of the affected pipe(make sure the water is off), and bring it to the supply house and describe your condition. They will give you the parts and materials you need to complete the job, as well as instructions. Good luck!

you dig it up to locate the cause...either hole in pipe or bad fitting on the sprinkler....you can then go to a sprinkler store such as hydrologic or others to purchase a coupling or pipe fitting....you can also ask someone there to exlplain.
