Kind of like the movies but more like Disneyland with gambling. It a much more family friendly atmosphere now. With a lot of things for families with children to see and do. I would say the movies 50% true but they exaggerate things to make it seem more exciting, which is true of everything in the USA. I have traveled to many foreign countries and I have noticed that other countries are actually much more interesting than the USA. For the average American life is very boring and routine even in places like Las Vegas. People from other countries put a lot more emphasis on enjoying life, social interaction and families. Americans tend to put a lot of emphasis on work, acquiring more things and making money

Vegas Rocks. There is so much to see and to do. It truly is an adults playground. Gambling in the casinos is just part of it. Check out some of the clubs, go to a show, see Red Rock Canyon and Lake Mead, go to Henderson and hang out with the locals, and you'll see in no time why Vegas is one of the fastest growing cities in the US.
And remember, even though there are cameras and security everywhere on the strip, just like any city there are places that you should not go. Keep your wits and remember that you can be a victim of crime anywhere.

The movies would tell you to go to Vegas because of their showgirls, casinos, the Cirque, etc. But CSI tells you otherwise because of the numerous crimes they've encountered. For me though, being in Las Vegas and walking around the city is worth so much more than what we see in the movies!
Lol, yeah, just try to keep away from maniacs and try not to act such a tourist.

it's over-the-top, classy and tacky in turns, fun and 24 hour. If you want high end or low end it caters for both. But it's not quite like CSI Vegas - I've been 3 times now and haven't seen a single murder ;-)

Yes and no. Yes, you will see lots of glitz and lots of action, but there are also huge crowds and long lines for main attractions. You will also see a lot of drunk idiots and lots of surley deadbeats who only want to prey on tourists.
Yeah, Las Vegas is a great place to visit, but keep your wits about you.
