Stephen King's 'The Dark Tower' series ended perfectly - I hated the twist ending and loved it at the same time. The man is brilliant.

Someone else wrote Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz. That's a very good one. Another fave of mine is Gone for Good by Harlan Coben.
