You have lived with a broken heart for 4-years, and yes it will last a life time ~if you don't learn to let go of the past!!!
It is time to start a new life ~ go out and enjoy the fresh air, travel the buses, trains, street cars: just move on.
Tomorrow is the start of the rest of your life ~ rejoice...

I lived with a broken heart for 3 years ,mind you i did start a new relationship ,in hope of healing, and he was to sweet to pass up. I say 3 years because, the love of my life died 3 years after he broke my heart...my mother always said...loving someone is good, but having someone who loves you back ,is great.....I'm not over the man i loved and broke my heart but I'm dame well going to give the man who loves me a chance,...if the man you love is still alive,go to him, pour yr heart, tell him everything that embarrasses you and if he still rejects you.....move on with confidence ,,,you need to build a bridge and get over it...

yes it can, if you let it......you only live once. make it count.

A broken heart only lasts as long as you want it to

Well...I am one of those people who gives my heart and soul in a relationship and once I was broken hearted for almost 5 years of my life...and eventually I had to accept that it would never workout...not even a mere friendship...and once I accepted that and tried dating and stuff I slowly but surely got over him. I still think about him once in a while but I also realize that I am glad I was able to move on.

Moving on is hard to do, my suggestion is to pick a hobby that deviates your mind from the past thoughts and hopefully slowly you will heal too.

A broken heart after 4 years is not uncommon. If you truly want to move on, you need to identify the hurt caused by the relationship and address it. It may involve counseling. However, if you truly WANT to move on, you can. The situation that caused the heartbreak will always be a tender spot for you, but it can be one that you get past if you truly want to. Good luck.

No it will not last a life time, weverone goes through a process of getting over some one they loved, the body is programmed how to deal with these things so no it wont last forever.

1. Dont stay in the past
2. think of every thing you learnt and use it in a positive way
3. there is someone out there for you
4. love your self

Hi luckily no, well a broken heart can last as long as you let it. Please no matter how painful it is, don't let anyone take away who you are, what you are. Don't let anybody destroy what took you, your entire life to become. So I know it is very hard, just pick yourself up & take good care of yourself you'll see it will get better. I WISH ALL THE BEST!!!

if you really loved someone and for some reason the relationship didn't work then i think that stays with you, but shouldn't stop you from having new, healthy relationships. i am married to a lovely man who i would never do anything to to harm him but i do still think about an ex who broke my heart. i will always think of him but never let it get in the way of my future with my husband. i once thought i would never love anyone again but then i met my fella. you may not think it now but life does go on.

it may seem like it lasts a lifetime, but it doesn't. I know it's not easy to get over someone, but do things that you like, like trying a new sport, going traveling, take a vacation. Try not to think of the past, think of the future...it takes time.
