I've noticed when i've been watching motorbike racing on the TV that when their not racing they wear silly looking sunglasses.. valentino rossi (motogp) is a good example of this as he wears big round ones.. lol

Sponsorship! If someone wants to pay you to wear something that you would normally wear something similar to anyway you would wear them too! I think Beckham is sponsored by Police sunglasses for about £1m a year! not bad for looking cool!
