phenolhas no acidic hydrogens but alcohol is having acidic hydrogen
alcohol liberates hydrogen and it is acidic

Phenol is more acidic than alcohol. Think about it this way--when both give up their protons, which will be the more stable molecule? The phenol will be able to stabilize its negative charge over the aromatic ring (think resonance!), whereas in an alcohol, the negative charge can not go anywhere, just stay on the O- (not too stable). Therefore, the phenol can give up its proton more easily--it is more acidic!

Look at the pKa's:
pKa of phenol is 10
pKa value's of alcohols (3° > 2° > 1° > MeOH): 18 , 17, 16, 15.5
More negative pKa values correspond to stronger acids and more positive pKa values correspond to weaker acids.
Phenol is more acidic. The mechanism of resonance stabilization of the carbanion is usually given as an explanation.

A pH is a measurement of H+ ion concentration in aqueous solution. However, phenol is not readily soluble in water, so you would have to compare phenol in ethanol vs ethanol.
Technically phenol is classed as a weak acid.
Ethanol has a pH of 9.8 but this is considered neutral.
The answer is phenol.

phnol is known from its older name carbolic acid too.it is colourless solid and has formula c6h5oh,its structure is that of hydroxyl group
OH.it is aromatic compound.as u asked ya it has more acidic due to inductive effects.u must google or search wikipedia for more knowledge and information
