I hate it violently, and one is all too often forced to hear some of it by rude boors who force their tastes upon everyone within hearing range. It is just a drone. Even boring chants are more musical than rap (It should begin with "c".), so "rap music" is an oxymoron. Much of it is about beating women and killing cops. If anything is censored, this should be first in line. Why don't women's lib groups say anything about it? Do they fear being labeled "racists"? No group is so priveleged that it is immune from the laws of human decency.

I don't hate rap but it's not my favorite genre of music (that would be country and some rock stuff). I don't know if i agree with you about what else you said about not having skill b/c some of the rappers have a lot of skill now a days, just take Bow Wow for example (or wait is he pop)? But a lot of rockers do have a ton of skill like Scott Stapp. He not only has a lot of talent by himself but also when he was with Creed before Creed split up. He WAS Creed. He's why they lasted as long and had as many hits as they did. Do you agree? email me at murphyni44@yahoo.com if yes or no.

YES, I hate RAp..And guess what?? Im Black? Isn't that something??? I just don't get why it's necessary to rap about the same crap over and over again...Such things including: Being from the hood, being ganster, crime, Disrespecting women, drugs, etc.. Many people , who aren't rappers, have had misfortune in their lives, but that doesn't mean they have to constently try to relive it or tell the world about it.But don't get me wrong, there are some good rappers out there...Lets just say the best are the ones who became famous way before the new millenium( I know I spelled that wrong, or maybe not...I dont know .lol). Put yourself in their shoes though...Why are they rapping about the things they rap about??? It's by being a rapper they feel they have a sense of selfworth and that they need to prove to the world that they are tough and powerfull. Why? Well, think about their past....

You shouldn't "hate" anything. You should be open to peoples opinions, views, and music. Rap is one way that people express what they've been through. Although a lot of rappers tend to add fictional things to it to make it more interesting, you just have to accept it. I hate country, rock, techno, emo etc. But I do listen to it because you never know, you may connect in a way. Maybe not to every word. You shouldn't down someones talent or "thing". Yes they make millions but what in the hell does Garth Brooks talk about? A bunch of nonsense if you ask me, but the song that he did with Nelly was nice and it made me open up and expand my horizons.

first of all your pic is really cute, if you look anything like that i would like to be your friend, i also agree wholly with your views. i used to think the exact same thing about dance/house music. there are no words, and its not even real instruments its all synthesizers. Rock Music (which is my first love) takes real skill, like you said learning to play those instruments or even sing, and do it well is not easy, and they lyrics, OMFG, those songs speak to me on a whole different level of consciousness. But then i thought i would like to be a musician myself some day and i would hate if someone judged my music on whatever prejudice basis. All music and musicians should be respected even if you do like the genre. Personally (and please dont be disgusted) i can tolerate most rap, if you listen to the words, some of these guys have meaning full things to say, i like Kanye West, Tupac and Jay-Z. I also like staind, smile empty soul, ill nino, my chemical romance, fall out boy, nickleback, all american rejects, if you like my taste in rock, mail me: tiff_annrose@yahoo.com

I hate "gangsta people" but I don't hate rap. I like to listen to rap music sometimes in my car, not all the time. But I don't like to watch the videos because of the way they are dressed and the way they act;...

Talk about your all time talentless music! They have no real talent like singing or instruments so the only other option is to talk your way through a song and pray someones stupid enough to buy it! That should show you how stupid many American kids are these days!!!

Rap Crap!? I can't stand rap music. Rap music = oxymoron
However, I disagree with you on the fact that they don't have skills. Some of them write their own lyrics, and I'm diggin that!
