Not true...if we did what we wanted to do there would be a big whole on the other side of the world right about now where the a-bomb hit.

Because it can.
Throughout history there have been nations that acted in the same fashion. Rome, Mesopotamia, Greece, the list goes on and on.
Nobody to tell it what to do until it either is finally toppled or implodes on itself.
Not to mention the rest of the world revolves around it. Think of what would happen if the US stopped importing all the stuff they get from other countries, or stopped exporting all their goods. Many other countries would fall apart. That's why even when they disagree with our policies, they follow along anyway.
Even with an idiot like W in the White House, the US can still do anything it wants.
When you're the big dog, nobody can mess with you.

I don't believe the USA thinks it can do whatever it wants.
The statue of liberty has stood for many generations welcoming migrants who were trying to get away from a bad situation in their own country .
It gave them a welcome into a life of freedom a new lifestyle and a better way of life than they had left behind in their home land.
There are countries who have accepted the help from America when desperatley needed and then turn around and later on stick the knife in .
These countries should hang their heads in shame!!!
How easy it is to forget!!.
God Bless America.

we don't think we can do wahtever we want to do. Even if we want to stay out of something, other countries look to us to help them, then if something goes wrong will blame us. It's a no win situation. If we don't help them we get yelled at for not being humanitarian, if we do help we get yelled at for sticking our noses where it doesn't belong.Thing is if you help so many people eventually someone is going to get mad.
Just as a suggestion, for a little bit of homework or self exploration, why don't you do a little bit of research on the politics behind what you're asking and find out all the diferent way and different reasons, ectcetera, it might be interesting

Well, it is exactly like a spoiled child who bullies others and gets its way all the time. The child is going to continue that behavior unless the caregivers modify their expectations. I don't believe the people are like this--there are so many good people in the USA. It is the government and policies in general.

because everytime they do what they want to they win,i know thats stupid but its like a bully,if he keeps beating you up he always will untill he loses then he will leave you alone,an example,
vietnam, them people have been starving for years we never went back, and somalia them africans took it to the usa when they went there and guess what we left and never looked back even though genocide still goes on there everyday, but as long as george bush is in power we will attack attack attack as sad as it sounds,oh except saudi arabia because they basically own us,and if you asked the majority of american citizens they would all most likely tell you we dont agree with our powers that be on attacking other nations but we have no choice just sit and watch

Have you ever heard the term, "Might makes right!"? Welcome to the 21st Century. Like it or not, someone has to step up to the plate and be the World's Policemen...the UN has proven time and again that they don't have the balls for the job! We do!

well, we "want" to turn the middle east into a parking lot and build a wal-mart where Iran used to be but we're not doing it. yet.
My question for you is why does Europe think they can tell us what to do? We don't have to answer to them.
