Well, as a painter, I paint a lot of rooms with red above the chair rail and a khaki-ish color below. looks really good together, and not garrish like red and black or stark, like red and white.

White or Green might look kind of Christmassy. I've seen reds and oranges together recently. It looks good if they are the right shades.

take white or golden yellow if it's simon or dark red .. if ir's more bluish , purple or mauve in shade take then orange or light blue , if it much lighter red or pinky in shade go to dark blue or black lines

If you are going for a warm look, use yellow or a warm orange.
If you're wanting a more cool look, use purple or blue.
If you're wanting dramatic, use black or white.
