Yes, a friend of mine had his wife of two years leave him for another dude and he seriously thought of suicide. I was the one person that was there for him to talk to. I spent three weeks living at his house and then even had him move in with me for a while until he was ready to move back into the world of the functioning. He confided in me about the suicide thoughts much later and said that he didn't want to disappoint me so he didn't kill himself.

When I was about 14 my friend and I were swimming at the swimming pool at Holiday In we were the only ones there we used to sneak in all the time and swim well his legs cramped up real bad in the 9 ft section and he sank like a rock to the bottom I thought for a second that he was kidding but he wasn't I swam down to the bottom and pulled him to the top held his head out of water and managed to get him to the side of the pool and then out of the pool he was probable 50 lbs bigger than me so this was no easy task we have been friends for 30 years.

Mine own life. I was drowning when I was a kid. I keep on kicking and as I went under I tried to yell Help. I went up and down kicking and yelling. I didn't know it but by the time I would yell help I would be under water.By kicking I hit the side of the drop off and it threw me into shallow water. Someone was just about to came in after me. I Will never forget that.

Just a few times while I was at the beach, I pulled some people back to shore before they could be pulled out by the rip-tide. I don't know that I saved their lives though, because a lifeguard probably would have saved them otherwise.

Yes, at the age of 12 we were on vacation staying at a hotel.
At the pool a little girl about 5 jumped in the deep end and could not swim, I jumped in a pulled her out after watching people just continue on like nothing was wrong including her mother. I took the young girl to her mom and she just yelled at the girl and did not say anything to me whatsoever.
My parents found out what I did and they were very proud, so that's woth while.

I saved my boxers life. Over the winter my I went outside to find my dog, but he wasn't in the backyard. My daughter and I searched the house and neighborhood for about 45 minutes. Now, my goofey boxer puppy has ran off everytime he has managed to escape the backyard. This time I had enough, and figured he'd come back sooner or later. But, I went in the backyard one last time. Then out of the corner of my eye I look at the neighbors above ground pool. They had this big ball under the cover that made this sort of island in the middle. Of course there in the middle is "Biggy". He had apparently tried to jump up onto their deck and mistakenly jumped right in their pool. So there he sat, on this frozen island, with ice and water all around him. He was shivering really bad and even had ice on his chin.
My daughter and I tried everything to get him out. I even took the slide off the swing set to make a bridge, but he was too scared to move. Finally I gave my cell phone to my daughter and told her to call 911 if my plan went wrong. Then I took a deep breath and slid into to half frozen pool. Talk about cold!!! You can't even feel your body in water that cold. Well anyways, I got him out and we ran upstairs and both hopped in a cold shower and I slowly made the water warmer. After a few minutes we were both fine. It still makes my shiver to think of hopping in that pool.

I kept him alive for 20 minutes until rescue got there. They transported him to E.R. where he had another attack on the table and died.

Yes, performed CPR on an elderly woman who had a heart attack. I kept oxygenated blood to her brain until EMS got to her and shocked her heart back to proper function. I guess I really didn't save her, but I kept her brain from dying from lack of oxygen. Does that count?
