I think females generally (there are always exceptions) express their connectedness to a person through conversation whereas males generally do things together. Talking on the phone does not involve a specific activity, just connecting through conversation.

Women talk to their friends on the phone to include their friends in their lives. My friends know what is happening in my life. Even my friends in other states know about my life and what im doing. We (women) relate to each other through our conversations and the discussions of lifes events, the happy times and the bad times. We need to connect to other women. I once heard that a women can live a long happy life without a man, but she cannot survive at all without her friends.

Women tend to talk more than men wheather on the phone or not. Women are just far more verbally expressive than men.

I don't know, but I do know that my brother talks longer on the phone with his girlfriend longer than I've ever talked on the phone. For example,once he talked on the phone with his gal FOR 6 HOURS STRAIGHT!

Because they are all self centered stupid *****! They have to feed their egos by giving the appearance that they are so special and so important to the world, that other ***** engage each other on their cell phones. These stupid bitches cause a MAJORITY of vehicle fatalities on the roads because they just can't stop texting each other; as if they are all lesbos or something.

Don't speak for all of us. I hate talking on the phone! We just love to talk about ourselves and get to know people. We like expressing ourselves and letting out our feelings.
