Actually he ripped it off of Queen. David Bowie was just on the track with Queen. And no there is no reason why anyone should like it.

He didn't rip anything off, he sampled "Under Pressure" much like Tupac sampled Zapp and Roger alot or how Puff Daddy sampled everyone and everything on every song.

Ice Ice Baby is not a great song but it is catchy and very nostalgic. Ceretainly not the best Vanilla Ice song, but it takes a person back to easier days.

It was catchy... sure he sampled Queen/David Bowie... but sting released a song a couple of years ago with Craig David (I think) where the melody was Donna Summer's On the Radio, but the Sting/Craig David song was still good.... Nobody dissed Tupac for his version of "The Way it Is".... and Aerosmith even let Eminem use "Dream On" for one of his songs. Immitation is the highest form of flattery after all.
As far as the Ice Ice Baby thing goes -- that was over a decade ago -- get over it.

One reason,

the sample is from Queen and David Bowie's "under Pressure" which is a great song. I foung out about the song while listening to that stupid Vanilla Ice song.

If you put the wiggerness of Vanilla aside for a moment, you still have some pretty catchy lyrics for the day, and, since he was like one of the first to make it big out of miami, you could say he was like a dirty south pioneer.

Whatever the case, the song is just like oneo of those things, that are so awful. So much so that they become looked at as good.

First of all if a person likes the song Ice ,Ice Baby you shouldn't have a say if he/she should like it or not. One good reason is it has a good beat.

The backround music is cool(it's actually a sample from a cool 80's tune),otherwise the song sucks!!

cuz it's the white man's first attempt (however lame) at rapping and that should be commended! he led the way for eminem! also, my friend in high school dated him (in dallas) when he was Robbie VanWinkle. But he had his thugs beat the crap out of her next boyfriend after they broke up. so he is not a nice guy, but still pioneered white rap!
