Because what reason do we have to believe we are the only ones in this huge universe? We don't even know how big it is, let alone what else could be out there. Why are we so special that we are the only ones here?
Hmm..I seem to have answered your questions with questions...

For the same reason some believe in Christianity, some Islam and other faiths.

A 'belief' is a 'faith' and a, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen." Hebrews in the Bible.

It would be arrogant to believe, in this incomprehensible cosmos,
we are the only intelligent sentient beings.

It is equally arrogant to believe alien life forms exist.

However, a belief in either side of the two possibilities is simply a faith as in reality what we have is a paradox.

The proof of the pudding .... but where is the proof?

Because for as large as this universe is, it's a bit arrogant to think we're the only intelligent life forms around. But as to whether or not they're visiting earth and sticking cold things up inside of people's nether-regions is something totally different. I don't think that aliens are interested in travling across the vastness of space or across dimensional barriers just to look at human ovaries and the backs of barns.

Same reason they believe in God huh?
Lets think about that for a second.
Bible is living proof that there was a God.
The only proof of aliens we have is that of what people have heard from a friend who heard from a friend.
I don't believe in aliens--I believe they are spirits..Spirits have made more contact with this world than aliens.
(PS it takes not only brainwashing, but an amazing imagination to believe the world exploded and everything evolved.)

Because if we are supposed to believe that there is an infinite universe out there, we can't be the only planet with life.
Most people don't think of aliens as 'little green men'. In fact, scientists have found fossilised creatures on the moon.

Fook off, nothing to do with god! What a prick... Well why wouldn't you believe in Aliens? There are more stars (sun's) in the universe than grains of sand on earth, each star having a couple, few, tens, hundred, thousands of planets rotating. Now what is it in your big ego that thinks we're the only ones?....

Lori O, thats hillarious, how very narrow minded of you!

Someone writes a book of stories and your willing to believe them rather than the possiblity of life on other planets. We are here due to evolution and natural selection! So who is to say that life has not evolved on other planets!!

For sure there is no GOD! never was never will be!! It is more likely that life has evolved in our own galaxy along with us!!

If GOD does exsist then he himself would be proof of alien exsitence would he not; after all we are aliens to other life forms outside of our solar system!!

Because we would have to be extremely egotistical and self-absorbed to believe that Planet Earth is the only place in the entire universe that has the ability to sustain life - it may not be pretty, it may not be clever, but something somewhere must be alive beyond our Solar Sytsem....and thats why I believe.

People believe there are aliens, because it is possible. Keep an open mind. You do not know that there are not. This is like keeping an open mind to other cultures and religions.
