I must have been meant to find it....and they must have been meant to lose it.I'd pocket the cash and maybe mail the identification.

I would have to return it. It would just be wrong to keep it. I have done this before, I worked as a cashier & someone left their wallet on my counter. I called for a manager who called the person, and I was thanked profusely. She offered to buy lunch and I said, no. I was so proud of myself!! I agree with what ppl here have said about Karma. It does exist, and I would suffer great consequence for keeping it.

I would contact the owner and tell them that I had their wallet. Hopefully I would get rewarded for being an honest person.

Return it. If you get money like this and keep it you will pay for it in the long run. What goes around comes around. I try to live by this .

i would return it to the rightful owner, who most likely needs the $$$ for bills ,or to buy food for the family. i would never keep something that isn't mine to begin with. think about how you would feel if YOU lost that money .

$5,000, no way could I justify keeping that to myself. So, I'd have to return it. If it were $20-$40, I might be able to talk myself into it.
