Greece, the champions of Europe. That is IMPRESSIVE !
Italy the champions of the World -even more impressive ! Absolutely amazing... So no doubt we shall see Italy proving over and over again that they deserved to win the Cup and that there was no orchestration (fiddle) in the WC (once again) -You see, the Greeks since winning their Euro Cup have shown us over and over again that they deservedly won the Euro 2004 !!!! They have shown us, haven't they ? No, they haven't justified their Euro cup win at all ! So where is the skill that kocked out one othe best teams in the WORLD, Portugal IN PORTUGAL ? They beat Portugal TWICE in the same Euro 2004 ! And yet they have done nothing ever since !! LET'S SEE HOW FAIR ITALY WON THE W/CUP -I say Italy will not do anything particular spectacular from now on, JUST LIKE GREECE DIDN'T. I say that neither Italy nor Greece should have won those cups and they did simply because of high levORCHESTRATION during those championships. Agree ? Disagree

"Azzurri italia" - don't hate me. I consider the Italy heroes when they were cheated in the past by referees so many times and they still won Euro Italy-v-Holland remember ? Italy took the chance offered to them in the WC, they did NOT cheat !!! The plan was to make France champions but you guys spoilt their plans to my satisfaction, so to speak. Neither are Greece guilty of fiddle. The FIFA system is. But the result is that Italy are WC and Greece ar EC... but I am sorry, Argentina were cheated out and so were Portugal !!! Yu know something ? My point is that The WC and EC are Mickey Mouse championships, LOLOL !!!

"Azzurri italia" -- Italy may have won the WC 4x in the past but if a country like Portugal, which is not a world economic power is NEVER allowed to win what they deserve.... you will continue to win it instead... trust me, Azzuri, this is a Mickey Mouse WC and EC... really !!! Sorry if the truth spoils the party... I have been screaming that WCs are mickey mouse since May and once again it has proved to be the same thing AGAIN !!! Politics spoil sport... (no pun intended LOL !!

I agree. I'm not impressed with either teams. And yes, Italy and Greece will not do well in Euro 2008.

I think you are a little bit wrong... There are huge differences between Italian and Greek football. One of the most important is that EURO 2004 is the only "award" Greece has, but WC2006 is the 4th WC they win... So it's very different. Italia has a very strong and experient football and everybody respects (or should) their game and Greek don't. We'll see Italia ruling in EURO 2008 and we probably won't see Greece. Greece has to grow a bit in football, that's all.

Come on man.. Greece are European champions of 2004. They're not an economical power, and they might have played conservative footy, but they did win fair and square. The same can't be said for South Korea in 2002, who needed 5 goals against them to be disallowed, for them to make it through to the semifinals. That's pushing it. Who's to say Italy couldn't have gotten to the 2002 finals, if not for that rigging? In 2002 I screamed murder as well, I absolutely hated South Korea to do unfairly well - despite my respect for Guus Hiddink. But this World Cup was much, much better.

Italy have won their World Cup fairly. They were strong in every department, which can't be said for most other teams - Germany lacked in defense, Argentina lacked killer instinct, Portugal lacked fair play, Spain lacked experience, France lacked scoring goals, while England and Holland were flawed overall. Italy were the least flawed, that's the least you could agree with. Italy's luck in getting to the final (playing Ukraine instead of France, Germany instead of Argentina, France instead of Portugal.. ) cannot be blamed on Italy can it? Unlike France they won their group, the rest depended on the draw which was rigged for Germany, not Italy. They won their games, and as far as I can see they won them fair. Italy were not on the top of my list of favourites either, my home countries were either missing (Scotland) or crappy (Netherlands). Italy were great. They won't win Euro2008, because they need younger players by then - just like the Greek winners of 2004 are now mostly up for retirement. This is Italy's golden generation - look ahead for your own team to do that well - but give the jealousy a bloody rest already?

I am delighted the Italians won. It broke my heart when they lost to Brazil in 1994 (?). Now I feel very satisfied. I feel that the world has been made right again.

Too bad Greece didn't qualify for the WC...I would have loved to have seen them in action. I hope they'll resolve whatever government issues they're dealing with to be able to qualify for the next one.

yeah, i would say im impressed. however, i was hoping that since greece won the euro cup that they would have qualified for the world cup.

oh........and I guess France was real impressive after their 98 world cup title and getting knocked off in the first round of 2002?......WITHOUT SCORING A SINGLE GOAL!!!!!!......and the only reason they qualifyied is because then defending champs got an automatic birth to the next world cup........that no longer is the case!!.........Stick to the Nfl or Nba........Italia........SIAMO NIO.....I CAMPIONE DEL MONDO........4 VOLTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Italy completely cheated. I hope that they don't do anything in the future, as far as greece, I have no idea. I was dissasociated with the worlld at that point.
