If ALL Portuguese players are/were cheats, then is Chelsea 100% cheats because half their players are Portuguese and their SUPER Manager is Portuguese to ? And is Manchester United 10% cheats because Ronaldo is there ? What about Arsenal... are they 100% cheats because the Giant and biggest cheat of them all, Thierri Henry playes at Arsenal ? -- Are we taking this cheating thing a bit too far ? Which country consistently entertained the World with their football ? Portugal ? Our mgic was our football, jour superiority on the field...NOT back magic which really would be cheating !! Perhaps thatis what kick Portugal out of the WC... Henri's blackmagic. COMMENTS please ? (please no insults... those will be ignored)

I think the problem is that the game is quite different in each country, these differences make the game alot more interesting; however, sometimes they can cause problems as a player might not think what they've done is wrong; however, they've offended the ref as the ref is not familiar with the players local game/style.
If you're referring to the 'Ronaldo - Rooney' incident, then I think Rooney was hot-headed and deserved a yellow card, Ronaldo took advantage of that situation which was a bit unsportsman like - hence the reason FIFA decided not to give him the young player of the year award.
I enjoyed watching Figo play - he's a real captain and a tremendous footballer. I just hope that by the next world cup England have a better team with a strong captain figure.

Half of the Chelsea team is not Portugeuse, they only have 3 or 4 portuguese players. As for their manager he earns more than all the people in a hospital in a year. Thierry Henry is not a cheat, he is the best striker in the world and it was a free kick anyway.
Portugal aren't entertaining as Italy or Aregentina or Germany or even France. They were more boring than England. Their diving was out of question and clearly unnecessary cheating. Ronaldo played well despite being booed that is probably the only good thing from Portugal.

Half of the chelsea players are not portuguese. I suggest you get your facts right first.
Portugal were not entertaining to watch just as Italy were not entertaining to watch when they were cheating. I can't stand any form of cheating in the game of football. If the players have any skill then they do not need to cheat. Winning is good but winning with honour and knowing you won on your ability to play the game and not how well you acted is much better. A lot of young people look up to footballers and they should be setting an example of good sportsmanship and not by trying to get their club team mates sent of in world cup matches!!!

It is more that some Portuguese players are no more than sissies i.e. Ronaldo and are more suited to the Womens code. During the World Cup his diving and theatricality caught on amongst the others and we then had to watch as they went down one after the other as if they had been pole axed. Yet they reported not one serious injury. They definitely brought the game into disrepute and the question will be asked in 2010 if they will behave better ( if they qualify). Your comments about Henry are racist and like you should be ignored.

The Portuguese side simulated quite a few 'fouls' during the world cup. I wouldn't say they cheated, just animated tackles when there is no need.
Ronaldo was by far the worst for doing it but everytime he got away with it. Until referees clamp down on it players will keep doing it. It's something that most football fans don't want to see but we have to accept it unfortunatly.

I think if Portugal could score they would have won the world cup.
Figo is a legend, like any true player he can create space out of nothing.
Unfortunately Ronaldo's constant diving ruins it for the whole team, although on saying that Deco is not afraid to fall over easy either.
Tactics i guess, its the way footy is going.

portugal weren]t selected as the most entertaining team because they were world class acctors, it wuz because of their skill. Italians make me mad because they are sch divers and actors. that is not entertainment. but why do they even have that award? All of the portugal players are pretty good, and the teams they play for as well. However, if you look at italian leagues, they just make me mad to watch. too much diving and acting, although it is much more amusing when they are both doing it rather than one team who you really like getting "fouls" called against them while the italians cheat, and, somehow, "win."

Portugual played hard against England; but no differently from many other clubs at the World Cup.
If you criticise Porugual, goodness knows what you think about Italy against France.
FIFA needs to do something about verbal abuse in the World Cup. As England invented football, it is time the referees applied our concept of "ungentlemanly conduct".
P.S. Whatever you think of Beckham, Rooney ought to take some lessons from him on growing up.

It's a sad occurrence of modern day football, but I think the way that the Portuguese handled themselves in the world cup was disgraceful and took it to another level of absurdity.
FIFA need to crack down on ALL players that dive/cheat.
