We need more mom's like yours, believe you will thank her in the future, especially when during a conversation you say something that reflects your education, the looks of awe at your knowledge is a huge good feeling about yourself, builds confidence and all that stuff you smart mother has already told you.

What I hate worse than studying is doing bad on tests. Right now, you need to develop habits that will become the tools that you will need for your education.
I am in a 4-year college program that was and is very competitive to get into. If it were not for study techniques that I learned from my previous education, I would not be in college today.
Sure, we all hate to study, but at about $80.00 a class, if you don't you are wasting time and money.
And by the time you get to college...increase that price by 8% a year. If you could even get into one.

Try to keep a good balance of study time and time to do what you want. If you spend all of your time doing whatever you want and not studying you won't have a good future...*DING* fries are ready.

if you know that you have to study for a good future just do it. otherwise, pick a good book and put it under your notebook. thus at least you'll be reading something you like when your mother doesn't see you.

well, you should stop worrying about the future and start living in the present. I'm not saying you should give up on your studies, just that you should put aside more time for you to spend as you please. And you damn sure better not be justifying to anyone about it :)

lol..no one likes to study, but it has to be done to pass? just try your best and take breaks every hour, don't study the same subject for a long period of time because you'll get bored...try making a timetable, but instead of having it studying, arrange some YOU time, like study i dunno math for an hour, then watch your favourite TV show for half an hour, then go and study English..do it like that...it worked for me =D
good luck...P.S show your mom the timetable to prove to her that you're making an effort with your studies ;-)

actually studing kind of helped me. i took a class where i had to create my own schedule and stuff and it included a maditory 2 1/2 hours of planned out studing so i know exactly what to do...and its not bad at all. plus my parents saw how i could manage my own life and i have no curfew, they let me do what i want. its really cool.
