What's done is done.... There's nothing you can do to change the past.

I suppose if you know the driver/school district, etc. - you could call and make apologies to the necessary parties.

If you profess to being an aide on a handicap bus and have a mother who won awards, no offense, but how on earth could you have missed seeing someone getting off a bus??? Unless you've recieved no defensive driving courses yourself, which doesn't speak highly of the training you recieved to become an aide, you know the first rule of the road. Pay Attention!!! All defensive driving is , is looking ahead for anything that may occur and responding accordingly. To miss a school bus loading or unloading should be a license suspension because it does kill children and there is no excuse.Ever. I'm glad you feel guilty and I hope you pay better attention in the future. Also glad no one was hurt. Make yourself a checklist to go over each time you get behind the wheel. #1 rule is throw checklist away and pay attention.

P.S. to the person calling others morons for crititizing her error. I for one was not saying people can't make mistakes, the children hit each year cry out for a deterent, that was my point. If it was your child hit because someone daydreamed...And I hope you do take everyone's advice and this will not happen again.

Yellow lighting fixtures you are able to bypass previous. red you won't be able to. I doubt she were given your plate decision, plus, common bus rules are that the newborn cant get off the sidewalk till the bus is all the way stopped. i does not assume a cost ticket.

You made an innocent mistake, and fortunately no one was hurt. Stop blaming yourself, and decide that you will use this experience by being much more attentive when driving in the future. Get a toy bus, and put it on your dashboard. Everytime you get in the car touch the bus, and tell yourself "I will be attentive today".

I understand how you feel. I made the same mistake myself and felt the same way as you do. The only thing that you can do is to be extra careful not to make the same mistake again. Don't worry about it, just be extra careful.
Everyone makes mistakes, even Bob D and the other morons who criticized you.

I suspect that you won't do it again, and you'll be more alert while driving. Not being alert is THE major cause of accidents.
Learn from the experience.

don't do it again. You didn't hit the kid so no harm was done. Get over it and pay attention next time.
