We need more info on what kind of job it is. You say either to further your career I think it would be beneficial to your company. I have a five year plan that I want to strive for as in moving upwards with a growing company. Make sure you look into the company read up on the web about them. They love when you look intio the company that is interviewing you. If no info. can be found say "I tried to find out info about your company on the web but please tell me all you can about your company". Always feel and speak in a positive way no negativity especially about any other company you worked for. Good Luck!!

Depends on how much you want the job, and how honest you've been so far in the CV and interview. Generally... you should honestly tell them why you want the job - not just any job, but that particular job.

To be able to adequately answer, I think you should do some research on the job itself, what is required, what needs to be done, etc., and think of the good and bad things about the particulars, and show that you've done your homework to the prospective employer.

Of course, were I applying for a street sweeper and a prospective employer asked me that, my first reaction might be a heart-felt ironic laughter... but I could think of situations where I could argue to get that job.

It all depends on the Job and the situation, career- professional development or just need to pay the bills. Honesty is the best policy, think about why you want the position in the first place and give that answer.
Dont be put off by employers at interviews, it is as much about them promoting their company as it is for you promoting yourself.

Tell them
"Cause I'm broke and I really need the money! and because I'm so broke I'm willing to work twice as hard to fix that problem as the others are"!
