I did!!!Every week I got my allowance and I walked to Camelot records in the mall on 7 mile road in Detroit,My favorites are all my Jackson 5,especially Rockin'Robin" all my Marvin Gaye,Elvis,some monkees,Partridge Family,The Osmonds,Than Creedance,The Beatles I still have them all,about 125 my fave are actually all my Beatle ones on Apple records!

Lucy I not only had that record player but a fuzzy round 45 holder where you snapped the top on and could carry your 45's!

Sounds familiar, only I was doing it at the opposite end of Michigan, in the middle of the UP. It was the records store on Tuesday and the drug store for comic books on Wednesday. Still have a lot of the records,especially the Monkees, as they are my wive's favorites. (She still has Davey Jones picture in the bedroom - should I be jealous? LOL).

definately the beatles. But I still have all of my collection. Including a DJ use only copy of Louie Louie by Paul Revere and The Raiders. Dreaming by Blondie, Working In a Coalmine by Devo, OOOH the list goes on....

you betcha... i got $1 a week for my allowance, and i would go the dime store and buy a 45... that one dollar would cover the cost including tax... so that is DEFINITELY showing my age. i bought the Monkees, the Eagles, Steve Miller Band, ELO, Donnie and Marie, George Harrison..... had one of those cool record players with the handle on the top that was all one unit with the speakers... anyone else have one of those?
