I took a calculator of my grandmother's and was lying on my back staring up at it when I decided to look at the back. I opened up the metal casing that held the batteries in and one landed perfectly down my throat, causing me to swallow it accidentally. I had to go to the local doctor and, due to a previous injury of falling and hitting my face on the ground, the doctor asked me pretty plainly if I had been abused.
After a couple days, I passed the battery and all was well! Except nobody wanted to put the battery back in the calculator.

There are so many, I ate grass a few times imitating the cows at my grandfathers. I ate horse feed to see if it tasted as sweet as it smelled and dogfood of course. I swallowed a penny on a dare by my little sister. A small marble. There are more but you get the picture.

My daughter used to eat topsoil (expensive dirt) when she was little. Not once, but repeatedly. She would even take my spoons out with her to eat it. So not only did I have this strange dirt eating child, but eventually I had no spoons in the silverware drawer!
She's now a very beautiful, talented young woman so I guess the dirt didn't hurt her at all!

I was told that I had ashes (from burnt pages of a book) when I was a baby. Dirt when I was 6 (or younger, can't remember).
