Why Is Israel Hurting Lebanese civilians? Is it on purpose?

Now, putting aside the horrible things that happened to this poor family, can someone tell me why Israel is firing on civilians? they were a regular family, they had kids in this car, and they killed the dad and badly wounded the 2 kids. Now i know that some of you claim that ISrael is defending itself, but is that really ,to your eyes, self defense? And no, i'm not forgetting that hizbullah is doing the same, hizbulla is a terrorist organization, they need to be destroyed. But ISrael isn't a terrorist state.... or is it? I mean, look at what they did, is that acceptable? is it ok to fire on a defensless car car with kids inside, AND THEY HAD THE WHITE FLAG ON TOO.
To my personal definition, this kind of act is as terrorist as al Aqeda. Killing kids is terrorism to me, is it to you? and if not, I'd like to know why, and whats the difference between israel and qaeda.

Hezbollah is and has been firing Katusya rockets into Israel. The rockets are often transported to firing sites in small vehicles. Hezbollah has many of it's storage sites INSIDE of towns. I don't remember the site I saw it on but there was a video of a gunship firing on what looked like an ambulance with a red crescent on the top. But when it was shot up by 20MM rounds the resulting explosion totally destroyed the vehicle. And that doesn't happen because it got hit by 20MM rounds. It happened because the 20MM rounds set off rockets (that's plural you could probably carry about 10)inside the vehicle.

You want israel to play by the rules of war but you don't care if Hezbollah does? And you don't see the difference? You don't want to see kids killed? Neither do I. But I can at least understand not everyone who gets killed in a fight like this are going to be combatants.

I've an idea. Why don't you go over there and get Hezbollah to stop hiding behind women and children and using things like white flags and ambulances for the wrong purpose. You succeed and then if Israel still kills a bunch of civilians I'll reconsider my position.

This recent situation started because Hezbollah crossed over into Israel and kid napped two Israel soldiers. Israel said that if they weren't returned " This would be war". Hezbollah is funded by Iran and there goal is to get rid of Israel. The Lebanese government basically has their hands tied because three quarters of their government is Hezbollah. Hezbollah is using humans as shields they are hiding behind innocent people. Israel is just defending their land as any country should. And Yes , I believe that Hezbollah is a terrorist group and they should be destroyed as like any terrorist group. And the countries that are funding these groups should be completely destroyed as well. I do feel that this war between Israel and Lebanon will eventually end up as a World War 3.

That's horrible. But it was one of many rockets fired at Lebanon. These weapons are indiscriminate and fired from a distance. It's not like the Israelis AIMED at children. This is kind of a dumb question.

Also, didn't Israel issue a warning to Lebanaon prior to their commencement of bombing telling them that the civilians should leave immediately?

Finally, Hezbollah STARTED this conflict. Why isn't anyone blaming them for the hell that they have brought upon their own people? If I were Lebanese, I'd be pissed off at them for the CROSS-BORDER raid on Israel. What were they thinking? Did they think Israel was just going to lay down and take it?

Hezbollah is obviously a cadre of idiots.

Friends! in the war when a missile, artillary shell or a bullet hits a target it is not having the capability to recognize what is it. The Army units engage their enemies on getting some ground based information. Some times it works quite true and some times the enmies relocate their positions and civilian enter there. It is great tragedy to kill the civilians knowingly! Due to some error in data collection it could happen and it is unavoidable in a situation that is happening in Lebanon now!

Israel is acting with tremendous restraint, were they targeting civilian populations there would be thousands upon thousands dead. It is fighting an enemy with no moral scruples without a care for civilian lives and totally disregard any established norms or humanitarian law.

There will be civilian deaths especially when civilian-combatants take refuge behind the populace including amidst fleeing families in vehicles, ambulances, mosques, homes; and store weapons in non-military areas.

Im lebanese and i thank god every day for not being there but i also pray everyday for all m relatives there(lucky because we live in a christian neighborhood). www.fromisraeltolebanon.info and ull c the stuff about the kids. IZt is a bit biased but inm sure ur seeing the other side of the story so y dont u see this side too to make a proper judgement. (Thats a tiny part of the bombing that is shown.)

The problem is that Hezbollah is forcing the civilians to stay in the area where Israel is bombing. Israel has dropped leaf-lets and warned the civilians to flee but that has not happended.

'geez'....The conflict in the middle east is nothing new, and Hezbollah have been attacking Israel for months maybe years before this new situation. Israel are simply defending themselves, just as the USA are supposedly doing in the middle east. ... This is a truly an unfortunate part of war, whether anyone agrees with it or not. I would love to talk to you more about it personally, as I want to hear more from those dealing with this on both sides. It bothers me. I understand were you are coming from. I agree with your response to my previous question: "To me, as a lebanese, the situation is like the chicken and the egg. Who started this whole mess? but the real question is: does it matter anymore? we're in a circle of hatred, a tit for tat ravaged region." Israel is too stuck up with Palestine because they want holy ground. They're just too dumb and blinded by hate, and don't realize that they have disgraced the land that they seek. They want to hurt them and kill them because in the religion they follow, they have to kill a person to go to heaven.
