I use home version M/S word using task launcher and have a resume in there. Whenever I send to an office they say it won't open and try a different format. Without changing or buying something new, why can't they open this and what to do?

Try this online service for sharing you resume:
http://www.emurse.com/

Maybe by sidestepping the process of sending your resume as an attachment from your computer to the company it will work. That service will reformat your resume to a format that should work with most employers.

Copy and paste it onto a different format like a PDF (Adobe Acrobat) or wordpad. Some employer websites, you can copy and paste directly into th application page.

Hope this helps and good luck!

are you sending from a mac to a PC?

if so, rename your file with ".doc" at the end, ie myresume.doc
