Yes, you may have been hijacked.

Do this - Get and run these three programs. They are excellent at getting and preventing hijackers.

Windows Defender is free from Microsoft. Go here to read about and get it - http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

Spybot and AdAware scan for and remove spyware. Run them both about once a week. Get them both free here - http://www.download.com

They will take care of your problem.

Some anti-spyware programs have an option to prevent your home page from being changed. Some websites "hijack" your browser and change the homeweb page. That's what hijacking is. It's probably just your anti-spyware trying to prevent it from being changed. Just check your settings.

Your browser must have been hijacked by one of the malwares.

Use the following software to clean it up:
Adaware:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Spybot:
http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10122137.html

As suggested earlier use Gecko based browsers like Firefox or Opera.
