Which would be a better place to spend the summer holidays....Kenya or South Africa?

South Africa is absolutely beautiful, but it feels much more like the US or Europe. Many tourist destinations have been developed to comfortable standards, and the roads are better in most places. When you are talking about 'spending summer holidays', this might well be what you are after.

Kenya, on the other hand, feels and looks more like 'the real Africa'. If you have plenty of money, you wouldn't have to compromise on luxury standards, but when you are on a budget this could be very different. However, you could be in for a wonderful adventure, with plenty of opportunities to see game, to meet tribal ethnic groups (like the Maasai and the Samburu), and to end your trip along the coast in beautiful beach resorts. Kenya has it all, but the choice is yours!

Definitely Kenya! I was there last year, on the coast (paradise!) and then photographing the wildebeest migration in the Masai Mara. http://kenya-safari-wildlife.blogspot.com/ It is a wonderful place, especially if you get the chance to travel around it. South Africa is also beautiful; Stellenbosch is well worth a visit for its lush valleys and culture ( and esp. if you like good wine;) but if I had to choose, it would be Kenya. To see wild animals roaming freely across the savannah is an opportunity not to be missed. SA doesn't quite feel like you're on the African continent. Personally, I much prefer the Kenyan people as well. They're genuine, passionate and full of spirit. I made several friends in Kenya, who I still write to regularly. Both COuntries are awesome but i would Go with KENYA TO THA FULLEST coz SA feels more modern like Us or Europe or like a modern type place.
Kenya is more wild and Oh so friendly and u'll have a much much better experience.
