1st of all, I am a Filipino.
I don't think anything bad about that. We do not bite people. We Filipinos treat foreigners specially almost than ourselves, I don't know also why are we like that. I think we are just. It is also a pleasure for us that a person like you would chose to stay here. Its a good thing to hear, that even Philippines is a third world developing country. And if you are right here, don't forget to visit the tourist spots, I'm sure you will enjoy. We have sooo many festivals that you can join in. Oh, If you can buy an English-Filipino(Tagalog) dictionary, buy one, so you will also learn and understand our language. We pronounce our vowels, disregarding the consonants, like,a(bat),e(let),i(hit),o(all) and u(tool). For example, to say good morning, its Magandang Umaga, to say good afternoon, Magandang Hapon, to say good evening, Magandang Gabi. Most of the Filipinos can speak and understand American English. I hope you wont get lost. Oh, I forgot, what's your nationality?Do you have a (Filipino)companion w/ you or here?, I hope you have. Where in the Philippines you will stay? I almost forgot to ask this, why did you choose to stay here in the Philippines?
I wish you will easily cope to the culture of us, Filipinos. It's FUN. It wont be hard, Filipinos are hospitable, and I believe that. What do you think I'm doing now?,isn't it?
If you will ask help about our culture,and/or anything you want to know about us, email me at lapash_tanganan@yahoo.com
I hope you'll reply to my email ad.

You should expect people staring at you. Specially when you speak english with an accent. Don't worry, they are just amazed. If you don't mind, I'll ask where you are staying. If you are staying near the Elite's villages like BF homes, Tahanan Vill, Ayala Alabang, San Lo Vill., etc, then don't wory for you won't feel different. You'll fit in well. But if you are in regular places then be ready for you'll either shine as if you are an artist from the states or you'll be the talk of the town. But don't worry, us Filipinos are hospitable but still, there are those who easily get insecure and will create stories of you. Good Luck and Welcome..*u*

Filipinos are easy to get along with. Friendly. Some would always think of you as a tousist and just merely vacationing. But if in case you'll be in a one neighborhood (on which you'll be moving in), you'll be very much welcome. However, for a couple of months you may experience constant stares and curiosity on you. It's normal because you're different and it's not a bad thing. You'll get used to it.

Some people may stare at you... some may not! Kidding! Just relax, Filipinos are really friendly and hospitable. We don't discriminate people (at all) just because their white. Be yourself and be friendly so that you'll get along well with us.
Good luck!
