No they are not Engineers and have not studied any of the subject either. Jeremy Clarkson started out as a journalist, Richard Hammond as a Radio DJ and James May as a pianist. However they may not be technically proficient (but the reaearch that is done for the show covers that!) but are a good presenting trio who like cars and make me (an actual Engineer!) laugh!

I'm not sure. I enjoy the show. I don't think their opinions are based on facts anyways (so it doesn't matter if they have a Engineering qualification). They very rarely say anything bad about cars built or designed in the UK. Its a fun show and you have to take their opinions with a pinch of salt.
