Nowadays, people casually meet online.. they chat, share ideas, stories, experiences..and even emotions.. and later, you find yourself so much in sync with the other across the net.. and develop fondness for each other.. and maybe, love... whether within your city, country or across the globe, how can you hold on to someone you never actually meet in the real world?

the internet gives up the chance to be the person we wish we could be--without all the real problems of day to day life.

People can be emotionally compatible (which you can develop online), but then be incompatible as roommates or day to day friends.

There is an artificial dynamic to an online relationship.

In the world of synthetic reality by the means of electronic media, illusory interaction that defy normal rules are permitted. There is a postmodernistic view of a hyperreality in which is seen as more real than real. In my opinion, this is somewhat dangerous and unhealthy (like prefering airbrushed porn over a real person). As long as people are in the mode of a less personal (and private) world of the internet, they are only seeing a segment of the real person, maybe none at all if they are lying. In a place where trickery is more easily believable, one must be careful not to act as if they are in the physical realm of ordinary life.

So to answer your question, one can hold on to a representational version of someone they have never met (or someone they have met synthetically). Nobody can actually hold on to the actual person unless they are holding onto a dream version of them. There must be a physical manifestation of someone in order for there to be a fulfillment of reality, or else you could be loving someone who doesn't exist. If they lack existence (like a psycho posing as a young boy), you will be holding a false image of your initial impressions.

Why w'd you hold on to that person for the emotions never fulfilled physically!!!
Its better to trade on the net only for friendship reasons that entails sharing ideas of common interest, learning new things from each other and if in any case you go beyond that point, then you should be in position to meet the costs involved.........
But if your are not prepared then please and i say please watch out your limits.....donot prick too much that you can not swallow...
wish you good luck

You can't its not real. You don't have the ups and downs of having to deal with each other like you do in "real life".
