I don't think that it illegal. I work at a nursing home and our Executive Director of Nursing (EDON) tells all of us Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) not to share out pay rates because many people take it personal if some gets paid more then they do. I have seen it cause many problem such as, she gets paid more then me, we do the same job, it's not fair, blah blah blah. So it's probably not illegal just not a good idea.

Its not illegal unless means you used to gain this information is illegal. It maybe against company policy and this depends on the company you work for. Where I worked someone got into the computer files and found out everyone's pay rate and was almost fired but they could not prove he did it.

It may not be illegal.. but it's just being macocious!! Mind your own business. Why would you want to see someone elses pay rate?? How would you feel if I looked over your records?

Not neccessarily. It depends on company policy. Many companies shy away from displaying that knowledge since it can cause harsh feelings in the workplace.

Everything in business should be completely TRANSPARENT!
EVERYTHING!
If liberals did half the research on corporate corruption as they do on spreading fairy tales about the present administration, their energy might have a purpose.
