Why are American people manipulated by US media?

Almost every American support Israel.....
Why are Israel and America allies? Is it just because of the military, and wars?

I too have pondered this . I believe it's because Americans Like to be depressed so they can have Anxiety so they keep that rush of adrenaline going.That, and we absolutely LOVE to fix things, ANYTHING, and if it Ain't broke, we break it. the Media is the best at distorting manipulating and using the American people. This is the way they keep things broke so we take our eyes off what they are really trying to do. and that is Creating Havoc!

I'm not sure Americans are manipulated by the media in the traditional sense. These days, media is so diverse that we can choose outlets that most reflect beliefs, values, etc. that we already hold. Thus our media give us reinforcement and more or less turn the majority of us into extremists; the rest of us are so confused by the mixed messages that we just tune out. The extremism is a dangerous thing because it leaves no common ground and little chance of compromise between opposing camps. This works well if you're the majority party in American politics because it means you can get all legislation passed exactly the way you want.
The manipulation that does occur, seems to be a tactic used predominantly by the right wing; both media and political. It involves the adaptation of the inarguable. For example the vast majority of Americans believe in God and freedom and Democracy. The right has taken up the banner of religion in such a way that anyone who believes in a deity feels obligated to join that political camp. Also when our administration had to rethink its reasons for going to war in the absence of WMD, they came up with freedom and Democracy for the Iraqi people...the inarguable.
As for why we're such allies with Israel...as has been stated, money talks and they are a great customer for U.S. industry. Also they have been our foothold in the Middle East and because of oil that is vital.

When you look at that its not just a case of the power behing the american media which is also like saying the most powerfull media force in the world as it gets all its power from the wealthiest country in the world.

The main case of why the media supports this particular cause is because when you look closley there is a very strong jewish power in america and the war being not just about terroism but about land and the conrtol they have in the region its of course benifical for the power base in america to support it and help the cause.

Another major point is america is a christian nation and that means the average person sees the jewish people as the chosen people of god (this has been for both good and bad for the jewish people over the years with the obvious ww2 but also with such things like this).

though the truth put down is that.

First the settlers have taken land not righfully theirs.

Second yes the terroists are evil for attacking innocents but the Israel army attack and hurt just as many innocents and even more if the ture figures were to ever get out. (they also have a history just as dark as america when it comes to retaliation just look at their response after the berlin olympic games).

Third and finaly their tactics used to enslave the outher population with this wall (in a very flimsy excuse) is both horrid and wrong. did you know that entire towns have become like jails for no reason and people have become trapped in sections cut from hosptials and other things like schools. bussiness across their border are all going under due to lack of trade and transport. people who happen to have had a fence built around their houses now have strict crufews and no one can visit them any more. i can go on about the silent reports of open brutality of the troops against civilians but till i hear more they are only wispers this too could be due to the hush the the america media has over it all.

I say If George bush is reading this stop spending all your time pretending not to be gay and be a man and stop this injustice.

It has nothing to do with being "manipulated by the media." The United States is one of the most educated countries in the world. What brings the U.S. and Israel together is a long history of trade, and getting our buildings and airplanes blown up by radical Islamic terrorists. The United States also has large Jewish populations in New York, Miami and Los Angeles, to name a few, which are three of the largest cities in the United States.

Charlotte Thomsen Iserbyt was the former Senior Policy Advisor for the Department of Education under Reagan. She wrote a book called "The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America" where she goes into detail of the agenda to intentionally dumb down the American public via the school system. The entire premise was to turn Americans into people that do not think for themselves and will compliantly follow whatever our leaders tell us is best.

You can see that their plan is indeed working. I've met people who I can not believe graduated from college. They don't even know basic knowledge that any average person should know.

The American people are manipulated by the media due to the fact that most media outlets are controlled by liberals. If you hear something or read something often enough for long enough you will believe it and base your norms and standards on it. It's the same way Hittler convinced millions to follow his lead. It's the same way communism trains it's people, it's the same way Muslim nations train their people to hate America and Israel.
