I have come to this category several times, and I have found questions about everything from where to find kiddy porn to what is a good college in India, but I never see anything on the actual category of special education. Isn't there anyone on Yahoo answers who is concerned about real special needs problems?

There are three kinds of off-topic questions (and answers), especially in Special Education.

First of all, for the zillionth time, for those reading this who aren't aware... Special Education refers to the education (and parenting) of people with learning differences (disabilities, gifted), especially children.

The first kind of off-topic questions are from juvenile mentalities who enjoy discussing bodily functions, and do it anywhere they can since this forum is essentially anonymous. It's like being surrounded by 2-year-olds jumping up and down and yelling "poopie" at the top of their lungs, except here it's mostly "sex." Sigh. It is essentially electronic graffitti.

The second kind appears to be from people who are in too much of a rush to pay attention to where they're categorizing their questions... therefore the religious, relationship, etc. questions posted under the wrong category. Many of these appear to be serious, which is too bad because they'd get better answers if they categorized their questions right.

There's also the occasionally very high or drunk person, who is a sad mix of the first two above, with a long ramble attached, usually.

Finally (and this is the ONLY one I can really forgive), there are non-English speakers from around the globe who do not understand the idiom. "Special Education" IS an idiom... and oblique reference to what is really meant. The questions from these people usually refer to what could be thought of as "specialized education" ... specific to a particular field, such as technology. Many of these also appear to be serious, which is too bad because they'd get better answers if they categorized their questions right.

Wrong answers seem to fall into three categories....

Wild guesses that end up providing rather lousy information to serious questioners... and could hurt the people asking the questions if they take those answers seriously. These are really people trying to build their points, rather than coming here to share with other people with the same interests.

Personal or insulting comments, a-la the graffitti questions.

Non-answers... e.g. "2-points!" or letter jumbles, just to get the 2-point "award." VERY SILLY, since Y!A points have NO real value whatsoever. Can't trade them for anything, don't earn any extra priviliges except for being able to answer and ask more questions each day, etc.

The ONLY thing we as Y!A serious users can do is RAMO... Report And Move On. In the "Report Abuse" link by the person's question/answer, there is a drop-down box with a list of infractions, including "Miscategorized," "Not a Question or Answer," etc. all the way through more serious infractions involving adult content, personal insults, threats, and exploitation of minors.

It is sad that one can spend infinitely more time RAMOing than answering serious, correctly - categorized questions, especially knowing that the Y!A staff is too small to handle the volumes of infractions committed daily.

I think spedusource said it best... very clever catagorizations. Yes, I have wondered this myself... I am a special education teacher, and came to this section to see if I could learn anything new of help someone with a specific question on special education, but those are few and far between. You have to sort through so many disorganized or just plain idiotic questions to find serious ones, that it gets discouraging. Keep looking... the questions are out there.

actually, I just answered a question on that yesterday and got 10 pts. I know most are not really special education questions but some ARE.

I'm not sure why people insist on posting questins in the "special ed" category when the question has nothing to do with "special ed"

the version between Islamic concept and Christian concept on Jesus could be defined in 4 factors as follows: a million. Divinity: in elementary terms God is divine in Islam. no one else is divine, alongside with prophets, consisting of Jesus and Muhammad. 2. Trinity: Muslims have faith that trinity isn't nicely suited with the oneness of God. the belief of three-in-one isn't convincing to Muslims. 3. Crucifixion: The Qur'an teaches us that Jesus grew to become into not crucified; somewhat, God saved him from his enemies and raised him to Heaven. 4. ultimately, Muslims have faith in the 2nd Coming of Jesus, yet our concept in his 2nd Coming is way less dramatic than the way portrayed via the Christian fundamentalists in North us of a. Our Jesus on the top of time isn't coming for the Armageddon conflict or destruction of the international; he's greater loving and non violent than what Christian fundamentalists declare. This distinction, alongside with others, make us Muslims diverse than Christians. there is not any might desire to launch a debate over it many times. Muslims are actually not gonna placed faith in Jesus as he's the "begotten" son of God. we've sufficient evidence and scriptures to tutor it particularly is wrongness. yet, nevertheless, we settle for Jesus as a amazing prophet, a messenger, a prophet with mind-blowing delivery, who healed blind and leprous people. and gave existence to lifeless birds, via pass away of God. on the different hand, Christians do not settle for Muhammad's (pbuh) prophethood, they maximum probable evaluate him as a liar, or a pretend prophet who grew to become into possessed via devil (valuable respecting view, lol!!!) some individuals above tried to describe why Jesus isn't son of God. in case you may desire to comprehend further, you may pass to good Islamic web content in this difficulty. besides, we carry this theory firmly, and we are actually not gonna substitute it, as our faith and e book grew to become into not replaced. temporarily, the divinity of Jesus and different doctrines have been further into Bible after Jesus disappeared. It grew to become into on no account in the Bible. The severe contradictions in those books carry its evidence.
