Various shades of red, orange-red and reddish brown.

When you view Mars through a telescope and see areas of dark and light colours, what you're actually seeing are albedo features on the surface of the planet caused by topographical features and other things like dust storms, clouds etc.

The actual colours at the surface are close to what I stated above.

The question of color on Mars has come up again and again. One image of Mars shows a giant green splotch. Some images show it to have a blue sky, others a red sky, and in yet others the sky is butterscotch. Rocks look blue, or red, or green.

you can sometimes see from Earth that the planet is red!
(just dont mistaken Antares as mars) <--- star in scorpio
