... because you simply couldn't stop reading. And you didn't care you are going to school/work tomorrow? Which book?

It happened to me several times.
It happened last night as well, while I was reading "Single White e-mail", and before that with:
"Mill on the Floss"
"Good in Bed"
"Scandal"-"Affair"-"With This Ring" in row (12 to 14 hours of reading, 4 years ago)
"Gordana" (probably didn't heard of this one)
"Which of Greech" (probably didn't heard of this one, too)

Happened to me lots of times.I even used to read books under cover of text books in school.Got caught too!My parents knew me too well and allowed me to go to library only for long school holidays.Books which kept me all night are

Any book by Enid blyton.(while I was in school)

Reilly's Luck by Louis L'Amour. Its a western.A young boy is abandoned by his own mother(she tells her boyfriend to kill him)The boy ends up with a gambler and he brings him up.Turns out to be the best gamble he ever made. The boy grows up and later kills the people who murdered the gambler. The Daybreakers,Fair blows the wind,Galloway are also good books by the same author.

Dresden file book series by Jim Butcher. There are 8 books in the series beginning with stormfront. It narrates the story of Harry Dresden, chicago's only professional wizard who works as a detective. He stands between the general population who is ignorant about the supernatural world and the monsters - vampires, werewolves, fallen angels, fey. He is aided by Bob,a talking skull.Karrin Murphy-a police officer and Thomas-a white court vampire.

Scaramouche by Rafael Sabatini. When his best friend, a young clergyman, is killed in a mockery of a duel by an arrogant noble, just to quiet his eloquent expressions of democratic ideals, Andre-Louis Moreau vows revenge. From that point, through meteoric careers as a consummate actor and scenario writer, then as a fencing master, and finally a politician, the brilliant Moreau keeps thwarting the aims of the aristocratic Marquis de la Tour d'Azyr. However, the nobleman causes pain to Moreau as well, and the time must come when the two will meet to settle their enmity once and for all. You are not likely to guess how their confrontation finally turns out. Set against the backdrop of the French Revolution, this swashbuckling novel is exciting throughout, and it presents one of the most dashing heroes in fiction, a man who can fight equally well with his mind, his mouth, his pen, and his sword, a man who stirs up events wherever he goes.

Yes all the time if the book is really good I can't put it down I have to reach the conclusion or I'd be up all night wondering what was going to happen anyways.
A few of the books I've done this would be The first ( books in Laurell K hamiltons Anita Blake series (not all at once though) or any Janet Evanovich Plum series, And I can't forget about the Horror masters Stephen King and Dean Koontz, although right before bed time with those sometimes is hazardous to my dreamland.

All authors want you to be so involved with their book that you can't possibly put it down until you finish. And then we hope you will want more--either of that book, or that series or that author. It is the real joy of writing, to involve someone in something you created. It's not the money as there are much easier ways to make money. So thank you for being swept away by your reading, you just made some writer's day..

Yes. Most recently it was two of Edwidge Danticat's books: "Breath, Eyes, Memory," and "The Dewbreaker." Really good! Up until 4 am, because I couldn't put it down. Had to get up at 5:30. Still don't regret it.

The Other by Thomas Tryon
Salem's Lot and The Green Mile by Stephen King

It's usually the suspenseful ones that keep me reading past bedtime, because I don't want to go to sleep without knowing how they end, for fear of dreaming about them!

I've done this many times, especially back in high school. I would read Shakespear for fun and couldn't wait until I finished each book. Sometimes I would finish it in a night and it left me wanting more so I'd either read it again or read another title.

I have bouts of insomnia and frequently read through the night, sometimes work related, sometimes fiction. The last time I purposely read through the night was to read the shipping news, I'm a Newf.
