Like really bad period cramps and they will come and go, in seconds, sometimes minutes. I was scared of having a baby also, but you know what I thought? Millions of women have babies so it can't be that bad. Unfortunatly my epidural didn't work, and it was to late for statol, the IV drug they offered, so I would recommend you take the IV drug. After you deliver, you will have forgotten how much it hurt.

They feel like bad cramps from runny stool along with a serious pinching at the cervix. Yes, it hurts, but it is all worth it, honey! If it were so terrible women wouldn't do it over and over. Talk to your doctor about pain medication options and the effects they will have on you and your baby if you choose to use them. I had my first natural and my second with an epidural because labor had to be induced and the induction made the labor a little bit unbearable. Don't be scared. Stop worrying, everything will be okay and you will have the bundle of joy in your arms and forget about the pain you went through!

Well.... hm... how far along are you? Doesnt matter I guess if you are pooching.... try this... the pain wont be there but the physical feel will be.... give yourself a clitoral orgasm. Your stomach will get hard (it wont hurt the baby). That way when you think you are having a contraction, you can feel your belly and you will know. Not all contractions feel the same. There are three different kids that I know of: braxon hix, back contractions (which I had for 10 hrs), and frontal.

I can happily say I don't remember vividly due to the fact that I got an epidural with each of our kids. What I can recall are pains being very strong and tight that ran from the front of my stomach area around to my lower back. Unfortunately, I don't know how to adequately describe the pains and sensations....its really something each woman relates to on a case by case basis, I think. After about 3 good runs of pain, I said that's it....where's my drug lord....I need a fix......lol

Its a dull throbbing pain. If you stay as active as possible before going into labor you will have less pain and a shorter duration of labor. I know because I had 5 kids and I always did what ever exercise and it wasn't bad for me nor that long. My last baby was born in the elevator. Good luck.

They hurt like hell, but it's all worth it. You do survive ya know, and when it's over you forget about the pain. It is a pain that is hard to describe, somewhere in between charlie horses and REALLY bad cramps. But it is different for all women. Some don't feel it the same way others do.

At first they feel like serious menstrual cramps then they increase in pain, they were like no pain I've never felt, i don't think they can even be described, however epidural is a wonderful word, and after you see that baby you will amazingly forget about the pain

really painful periods . . don't worry, labor is incredible . . don't forget, you are pushing your baby out into the world, keep that thought with you all the time, you are giving her life, ok it hurts, but it's a productive pain, and then all at once, it's over and you have a wonderful tiny new life in your arms, I never had an epidural, and it was worth it!!!!!!!!

REEEEEEAAAAAAALLY bad cramps, seriously! they come in waves like gas cramps, they go to a peak of excruciating pain like you've never felt before in your life X10, then they go down, and as soon as you start to relax another one starts, and it never seems to end. Get the epidural if you can. I couldn't b/c I have scoliosis. I went through 9 hours of this pain every couple minutes. TAKE THE DRUGS!!!

My girlfriend told me it feels like the worst menstrual pain...multiply that by 100. She said it also feels like you have to poop because your anal muscle starts contracting too and it starts to hurt. Your back hurts, your pelvic area hurts....I guess tylenol wont help.
