When a vampire bites you, you are submitting to his advances. It's a very sexual thing.
Imagine you're a woman. A tall, strong, handsome man gives you his undivided attention. He dominates you without having to break your spirit, because he somehow makes you want to be dominated. In our politically correct world, a woman is considered a traitor to her sex is she admits that she likes to be dominated. If this woman were to fall under the spell of a vampire, then it's not her fault that she is submitting. She can say that the vampire took her, when in reality she went to him willingly. She can close her eyes, relax, and let go. Give the vampire total control. In submitting to his will, she gains freedom. It's a strange paradox, but I think that most people have a dominant/submissive aspect to their personality. Mainstream Christianity has labeled these aspects as deviant, so most people avoid them like the plague. A vampire is a representation of wanting to let go, to explore that darker sexual nature that we are all taught to fear. It's why a vampire is so sexy--he unlocks our forbidden darkness and takes away our responsibility for our actions. We can have a clear conscience, because the vampire made us do it.

There are many reasons that vampires are so popular.
Most importantly, vampires have a sexual appeal. This sexual appeal ranges from the more normal (dominance, charming, and innuendo of oral sex) to the strange (blood fetishes, sadomasochism, and necrophilia). In a research, people were asked what they found so appealing about the vampire. The answers revealed incredible diversity. Qualities mentioned include: eroticism, The idea of sucking blood from somebody's neck is a disturbing yet intimate visual, generally involving some form of physical embrace between vampire and victim. This hint of sexuality strikes home with some of our deepest desires and fears, depending of course on the individual culture .What's with the gigantic population of gay vampires, anyways? About half of all vampires in fiction are gay or bisexual, it seems. Does our blood just taste better, or are we more drawn to the genre than straights? The homo-erotic aspect of some vampire stories comes from some ultra-conservative(and highly dubious) opinions of homosexuality. To some in the far right, the idea that vampires turn normal humans into their own kind mirrors the erroneous idea that gays and lesbians constantly recruit from the 'straight' population. I think that's why the vast majority of female vampires in movies are either bi or lesbian. That and the fact that horny hetero males make vampire movies and they enjoy the sight of two girls getting it on.

Same as with BDSM, the thrill of getting close to pain, of either the power of controlling another, or surrendering to one, and of breaking a religious taboo.

freaky sex without diseases to worry about, and no one will say no to you, because you can control them. So, most people just need help and latch onto that because they don't have much in the way of power in their own life, so fantasize about that instead of doing something with their life.
