The tick, it can't be too smart, all it's programmed to do is find a body, attatch, and eat till it gets so fat and grey that it falls off and can't move anymore and dies.

The dumbest insect, if you can call it that, is the lovebug. They were engineered at some university here in Florida to help get rid of the mosquito population. Instead, these dumb bugs float around every spring and fall, sometimes en masse, usually mated to another love bug, and then die within 24 hours. I am living proof that the mosquitoes are still alive and kicking!

I cannot see how any insect could possibly be lazy as their very existence depends on their being energetic... unlike domesticated animals, who if spoilt, could become lazy and downright slothful!! But check out this article which I read....
Beez would rather Zzzz than Bzzz!
Bees are not as busy as they are made out to be. In fact the insects are lazy, workshy and prone to sleeping on the job, according to new research.
Bees sleep for 80 per cent of the night and like to spend long periods "resting their wings", an award-winning German zoologist has found.

No. they do no longer sense the sense like we human beings do. that's as a results of fact we've a extensive-unfold apprehensive gadget working via our vertebra (backbone) which sends messages to our concepts. this means that if if our leg is injury, we sense the discomfort on the right concepts. on the different hand, the bugs are non-vertebra and that they don't have extensive-unfold apprehensive gadget. to that end if an ant's leg is crushed, in basic terms the leg will sense nearby discomfort. apart from, their discomfort value is short, as a results of fact that they produce great form of off springs and their life is short. they are able to additionally reproduce their lost organs. that is been stated that in case you decrease a cockroach's head, it is going to die after a month as a results of ravenous. Scientists have decrease a lobster's leg and feed him, which he ate. it is likewise genuine that different than for human beings no different animal knows of its life.
