Has anyone, experienced this that has a better remedy for Relief that does not entail a hysterectomy OR birth contorl pills( to regulate Ovulation (suggested by gyno ) these bouts are usually 2-3 days and often time have her "doubled" over in Pain. -as you can tell from time posted, the Pain also wakes her from sleep...
Replies are appreciated-

Ah, geez, please send them my sympathy! A lot of women get better relief from using Tylenol and Motrin. Have them take 1000mgs of Tylenol and then two hours later take a Motrin. Take the Tylenol every 4-6 hours and the Motrin every 8 hours. It's important to take the pain medication before the pain gets bad - they need to keep on top of it or the medication will not be nearly as effective. Prostaglandins are what cause pain and Tylenol and Motrin prevent prostaglandins from forming ...see why you need to take it before it gets bad? I hope this helps - there's nothing worse than hurting!

If this doesn't work, ask your family doctor to prescribe Toradol (torah-doll) It's absolutely fantastic at knocking out pain and it's not a narcotic.

Thermal ablation comes to mind, wherein the lining of the uteris would be rendered unable to build up the blood lining, thereby rendering her steryl. She would, however still go through the motions, so to speak, but the pain would be severly cut back. I would be loath to recommend narcotics such as codeine, dur to addiction possability. Some have found great relief, (Forgive me for saying this) by smoking pot, as Queen Elizabeth did for her menstral cycles. The effectiveness varies from person to person. It relaxes the muscles, including the abdominal muscles, thereby relieving cramping., and it is less harmful to the body than a lot of pain medication can be. As with anytthing of this sort, seek medical attention first, as there could be an underlying problem causing this.

Try a heating pad or a warm bath. Green tea can help. I get it. I find the worst thing you can do is give sympathy. When I'm doubling over I'm usually laughing because it hurts so bad, my Husband just makes sure I don't hit my head. Otherwise he goes about his business. The less she thinks and dwells on it, the better. Hurts like a B*tch but toughing your way through it is very helpful.
