Seriously... I know there are some people that are really into something and bend over backwards to share their experience to be helpful, but some people just say something is the best because they get some kind of financial compensation or whatever. What is the point in living if you're full of nonsense and only care about yourself... don't people realise how small and insignificant they are? Why can't they just... be true to themselves?

Money talks... money makes the world go round and round

There are still many people in this world who are altruistic. There true motivation is to help. I often think of the people who have joined the Peace Corps. They are trying to make real differences in the lives of other human beings. How about the doctors who may go to impoverished nations to help heal the sick. I don't see that as an affluent medical practice where they are getting a lot of money to help and heal, to me they have passion, and compassion. So yes, there are people who will still be true to themselves and others.
Now in the reality of every day living, where your skills are needed to keep a roof over your head , and food on the table, a person has to be compensated for that based on just plain old economics of living in our world today. Again that doesn't mean those people aren't true to themselves, they have to live.
Now what you may be asking is why there are so many in the world who are greedy egotistical , and self absorbed . Now personally none of those words are considered a virtue by me, but I am sure there are many more knowledgeable on that subject to give you valid reasons or explanations of it.

because everyone has their price. You seem to be inquiring more about fake people or 2-faced people than a "sell-out" All the faulty, dispickable people I know, became that way WITHOUT $, bribes, compensation, etc - - they were never in the position to be bought out of anything or any belief - and they do what they do out of pure selfishness and ignorance. Maybe someone you see as a "sell-out" is more of a soul less shell instead. Whatever you feel they did to "sell-out" wasn't real or true to begin with. It's more like that soul less shell is just doing what they tend to do - jumping from 1 bandwagon to the next. Consider the source and you'll be able to chalk it up and understand - WHY, WHY, WHY? alot easier. Brush them off like dirt, and have a coke and a smile cause they're them and your you.

Guilty. On all counts.

For years I've been saying things that I do not think has much importance nor relevance to the lives of many. More importantly I do not actually believe in what was being communicated no matter how well the work turned out to be - clients liked it, superiors rewarded me. I worked for money, little satisfaction. I sold my life, my soul... to the often make-believe world of false imagery and meaningless goals. I did all of these with a passion driven by material success.

Have you ever had 1 million dollars cash in your bank account? Do you know what it feels like?

I believe one should not be judgemental about how others approach success - many of us prostitute ourselves to a certain extent - doing things well, with a passion but not actually liking the work per se.

It may be the opposite. They may have more passion for what they do than why they do it.

The money is just there because you are comparing apples and oranges when you set a wage for a deed. Is a doctor worth $300 a visit? Is a plumber worth $50 an hour? Who knows.

One thing is for certain, each person does what he does because he can, and can implies will. He is willing to do what he does.

Well - this is Our Still Not United World, missing alot of possibilities.

If we have a good system , that can determine that one person can help somehow on building beter world or understanding some beter - it must finance him at all to contimue researches...
Well - it's only up to us - if we build such a world ...

But i'm a kind of a globalist, and soon or later - i think it will be.

This culture demands loyalty from the individual. "If you don't agree with us, then you're wrong" kind of thing. Who can you blame though? Look at the government/politicians. I don't remember what issue it was, but Kerry voted pro for something than the next vote they took he voted con. Why? It's all about being accepted. Some people don't have the spine to tell other people what they really think for fear of rejection.

Since everyone understands that celebrity endorsers are paid for what they say, endorsing a product isn't really a deception. Think twice before you dismiss financial gain as a "selfish" or "unworthy" motivation. Remember, money can be used to feed one's family, to make charitable donations, to stimulate the economy, for education, etc. Before you judge a man, walk a few steps in his moccasins. Chances are he's acting in the name of a principle – maybe not one you tend to value, but then again his goal isn't necessarily to please you.

Passion comes only with self respect, and when you think your actions and likings deserves much attention you stay attentive, as attention is a sign of self respect, otherwise you might sell out to your motive and ambitions as ego will do anything to feel safe and satisfied.

A self-centered person will always be respectful as he knows that what he gives out is he will get back but being self centered doesn’t mean not paying attention to others, he would include others in his scan of personal attention. When his sense of self expands to include others that is when he is truly empowered otherwise he is just trying to be pleasing to gain approval.

Being centered in the self he will bring certain reverence to his work, that will make his work his worship, but still he won’t loose himself in work, as he knows where his centre lies.

Loosing our centre we make Gods out of demigods and ignore our inner God the inner Self.
