I live in Michigan, and I love the waters that surround us. I live in Detroit on the Detroit River which connects Lake Erie to Lake St Clair which leads into Lake Huron. This is only the east coast of the lower peninsula. On the west coast of the state is Lake Michigan. Lakes Huron and Michigan form the northern boundaries of the lower peninsula, and Lake Superior surrounds the upper peninsula. Not only do we have great lakes we also have lakes and rivers of all sizes dispersed throughout the entire state. Michigan is truly a water wonderland.

I'm a southerner and I live in the great state of Mississippi. I love the people and all their hospitality. I love that we have lots of open space and country to do whatever we want. I love having neighbors that are just like family. I like not living in the city with all it's hustle and bustle. I LOVE the southern food and heritage.

I'm in India. I did not live outside India to make a comparison as you did. What I and probably every Indian will miss, while living outside the country, is the family, if he is not living with his family. An Indian loves his home-made food, however simple it is.

Louisiana-- New Orleans specifically.
I love the culture-- the history of New Orleans is priceless. Going to downtown New Orleans is like stepping back in time- no matter who you are or what you look like, people smile at you when you walk by, they stop you to ask your opinion. And especially Cafe' Dumond for their wonderful beignets.
The culture (and the vast different cultures all co-existing as one) is what makes New Orleans special.

I was born and raised in Massachusetts, and I love the fact that one of my ancestors arrived on these shores and helped to found this country! You've probably heard of him...John Alden. And no, he wasn't a pilgrim. He was the only one who arrived with the first ships that wasn't a pilgrim.
Aside from that, I love the beaches and cool weather.

What I love about my state is that there aren't a bunch of nerdy people and dorks who get on the Internet to talk about corny stuff that ain't even interesting to talk about. And too many of them are on yahoo questions and answers
